Benjamin J. Ritchey, Acting President/CEO

Benjamin J. Ritchey is Vice President and General Manager of Battelle's Transportation Division (TD), where he heads Battelle's transportation practices. The division provides engineering, operations research, and economic development expertise to provide global safety, security, and technology transfer services to both transportation and space-related government and commercial clients.  Ritchey has increased the division's commercial products across a range of transportation technologies.

Ritchey, who holds degrees in political science and public administration, has 20 years of transportation policy, freight operations, and management experience. He began his 14-year career at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio, as a researcher and progressively moved into project and line management. Before joining Battelle in 1989, he served as Director of Highway Research for the Association of American Railroads and as an industry analyst for the National Transportation Policy Study Commission.
