AIME was established in response to growing manufacturingrelated technology and human resource needs nationwide. AIME focuses the University's resources and talents on advancing efficient, competitive, and sustainable manufacturing technologies. A variety of technology R&D and deployment centers are addressing crucial manufacturing thrusts including: information technology, operations research and analysis, product, process, and equipment design, environmentally conscious manufacturing, product and materials processing, and information dissemination and training,
R&D centers include: Center for Green Manufacturing, Manufacturing Information Technology Center, Machine, Process, and Product Design Center, and the Operations Research and Statistical Analysis Center.
